As a child born and brought up in Oman; I have always been surrounded by different animals. For a long time, I had desired to own a purebred dog. But could not, due to the lack of - country at the time. As a child, my mind held a question as to why amongst so many soft-hearted residents, why did nobody own and care for cute pets?
That question stayed etched in my mind in the following years that came. I left for the United States of America to pursue higher education, and living there, I noticed professionalism, commitment to quality and providing customers the service they deserve towards caring and loving for their pets.
In 2000, when I returned to Oman after completing my education, I concentrated on my family business of steel fabrication. For the next 8 years, I focused on that metal industry, mostly catering to the government's needs. It was then that I decided to offer something different to animal-lovers and pet-lovers within the country. I decided to present a choice to the public...a better choice!
Pets are not in animate objects, or a fashionable trend that one owns to be in style. They are not clothes that we change everyday, or cars that fulfill our objective for a certain period and are then disposed of. They are a lot more than all that. Pets are companions, that are by your side at all times, happy or sad. Just the wag of their tails, or a stroke on their soft fur are enough to make one feel better. Pets also help to instill a sense of caring and responsibility in children and adults. They require your attention, care and love just as humans do. And as the pets themselves provide their masters with the same, they should be reciprocated the same way. This can only be made possible if the master of the pet is knowledgeable and responsible enough.
In 2008, Pet Planet Was established and registered under the Ministry of Commerce. That’s when all the work started. My wife along with myself traveled to a vast number of different countries trying to search for good quality but reasonably priced pet supplies and healthy pets of course. With one thing in mind (and that was “to provide the market a better choice in terms of reasonable price, better service, commitment and information”), I studied and researched the best quality products and breeders that I could get my hands on. Until after 9 long months of hard work we have finally opened PET PLANET’s first branch in Al Mawaleh. With the same thing still in mind 14 months later, we are now catering to dozens of people per day. Trying our level best not only to provide them with products and pets but also with the knowledge that they would need to be able to be a successful and contented pet owner. PET PLANET’s slogan since the day we started has been “Making life Easier for you and your pets” and after almost a year since we started the company this is still the backbone of the organization. Providing customers with all the tools both physically and intellectually to not only be ready but also happy in the mutual bond that is always present in all “master-pet” relationships.
Let me take this opportunity to thank all of you for the heart - warming response and support that you have given the company and myself. Be rest-assured that PET PLANET would never stop striving to give ingenious ways to make you and your pets as happy as can be!
